Justin Bartlett is an audio engineer, producer and saxophonist currently working out of Philadelphia PA. Born and raised in Massachusetts, his career trajectory took a significant leap forward in Philly where he started engineering under the mentorship of the Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip at the legendary Studio 4. This studio, steeped in a rich musical history that has seen the likes of Fugees, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, and Criss Cross, became the catalyst for Justin's burgeoning skills.
Honing his craft alongside Yip, Justin has worked with a roster of acclaimed artists, including Circa Survive, Anthony Green, Turnover, The Wonder Years and Movements to name a few.
Parallel to his engineering feats, Justin's prowess as a saxophonist has seen him share the stage with bands such as Turnstile and Turnover. His performances have resonated across iconic venues like the Brooklyn Mirage, the Stone Pony Summer Stage, and even other prestigious places such as Citizens Bank Park, the Newport Jazz Festival, and Boston's Symphony Hall.
As a producer Justin's diverse musical background allows him to connect with artists on a deeper level, as he brings a musician's perspective to the production process. His hands-on approach in the studio is a reflection of this. He is not just a technician behind the console, but a collaborator who engages actively with bands, offering insights that only come from an extensive musical background.
